The Concept™ from the SPI LAB Series challenges traditional ball design by flipping the script on how core and cover combinations are engineered for demanding lane conditions.

At the forefront is the revolutionary ARC™ Pearl Reactive coverstock, engineered with one of the highest coefficient of friction (COF) values in the industry—right at the USBC limit for oil absorption time. With the Concept™, the cover functions as both the engine and the tires, creating unmatched traction and consistent hook potential.

Inside, the Radius™ Weight Block plays the role of traction control. With conservative RG and low differential numbers, it stabilizes motion and keeps the ball online without overreacting or “locking up” downlane. The result is controlled, continuous motion that never quits through the pins—even with its low flare potential.

Unlike traditional urethane-type reactions, the ARC™ cover technology prevents excessive oil carrydown while maintaining strong continuation. In 14–16 lb. weights, the Concept™ is built as a two-piece construction with a thick resin shell, increasing the coefficient of restitution (COR) for livelier pin action and enhanced carry.

Finished at 1000-grit Abralon®, the Concept™ is tuned for control on challenging patterns where traction and predictability are paramount.
